Scouts and Forth?
- 1000 Controllers - The biggest Forth cluster built by scouts (for German version please click here)
In England every five jears there is an jamboree, this jear again, "Peak 2015 Scout & Guide Jamboree", so great fun for the young people. The meeting in Chatsworth Estate, Derbyshire, begins on July 25th and continues until 1 August 2015. As part of the various activities the plan is to include electronics this year. It fits nicely there because the motto is "time travel". And when you want to look into the future, where computers will be everywhere – a better understanding at the basic level helps. Solder your own computer together; you will be using the small PCB - Printed Circuit Board that is equipped with a TI MSP430 Controller and LEDs. Two batteries are the power supply. The case is an empty TicTac box. In this MCU Forth will be installed. And so you might as well try it immediately. Internally it is discussed as well - what can you do quickly with a network of 1,000 controllers and LEDs - ideas are welcome ...
Simple examples with limited-vocabulary are included.
And you may also donate for this good cause – as the budget is VERY limited.
Well, I'm curious to see what happens.
